The recent comment here that young Tom Taggart might have started something that would lead to collegiate rivalry on the turf had a repercussion yesterday. Owner Taggart named a good colt after his class in college, which was Yale '09. On the clubhouse porch yesterday this tourist encountered Harry M. Stevens 2d of the noted catering clan and Yale '32.

As hinted a few days ago, Joseph Losey has definitely decided against the Ernest Hemingway play "The Fifth Column." A "combination of casting and financial difficulties," he notes, though he still is in the market for other plays, expecting to produce one or two this season.

The Theatre Guild's first production of the new season is to beand the announcement is without great surprise--"Dame Nature," or Patricia Collinge's adaptation from the French of Andre Birabeau.
