ジョン・セイルズ（John Sayles,1950年9月28日 - ）はアメリカ合衆国出身の映画監督、脚本家、俳優、小説家、エッセイスト。
1990年代初頭のインディペンデント映画運動の父とも言える存在。ナンシー・サヴォカ等に影響を与えた。インディペンデント映画監督が流行の先端を行くようになった当時、セイルズは既に模範的な作品群を手掛け、脚本の添削、執筆の資金や奨学金等を個人プロジェクトに投じ、彼が追求した芸術的自由を体現、その集大成として傑出した犯罪スリラー『ローン・スター』（1996年）が誕生した。
